Texas Outdoor Family Announces 26 New Camping Workshops this Fall

The Fall is quickly approaching and what better way to welcome it with open arms than unzipping your tent on a cool morning in a Texas State Park?!

This fall the Texas Parks and Wildlife Texas Outdoor Family (TOF) program will have 26 new workshops scheduled in parks across the Lone Star State. You can join them by going here and checking out their calendar to register.

When you register for a workshop, not only are you supporting the state parks, but you are signing your family up for some serious fun! With your $65 registration fee, you will receive all of the gear you need. That's right, you don't need any gear to camp with TOF because it will all be provided! All you need to bring is yummy food and something to sleep on and in (e.g., sleeping bags, blankets, pillows).

Your family will learn lots of skills and activities from the rangers, which include:
  • How to set up and break down camp (including your tent)
  • Fire starting
  • Outdoor cooking
  • Guided walks
  • Nature activities
  • How to use a GPS
  • Geocaching
  • Introductions to a wide range of outdoor activities (such as fishing, kayaking, wildlife watching) depending on the site location, facilities and the season of the year
If you've never camped before, you need to check out these awesome workshops. You'll never have to say, "But, I don't know how to do that!" ever again!

If you have more questions, please contact Texas Outdoor Family:
By phone, Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at
