Green BaYOU builds an outdoor classroom with middle school students near Houston, TX

When youth act upon their ideas to create change, they cannot be stopped.

I had the pleasure to connect with Kathryn White of the project Green BaYOU at the 2012 Outdoor Nation Summit in Austin, Texas. She is a passionate and determined leader of a movement that connects youth with nature, the native Houston prairies, and gardening. She has worked tirelessly to grow her project into a movement that will begin to reintroduce native prairie species on the campus of Carlos Watkins Middle School in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, near Houston, TX.

Visit her site to learn more about the idea behind the project and her future plans: http://greenbayou.org/

Watch as the project comes to life and the youth take control of their outdoor space!
