Our volunteers sponsor underserved, urban families so they can visit a regional state park with the program, Texas Outdoor Family. We assist park rangers in providing outdoor recreation activities for the families and we camp with them the entire weekend. We help each family set up camp, cook healthy meals, engage in outdoor activities, and give each family in our program an outdoor gear pack full of items they can continue to use in their own local outdoor spaces, like a back yard or a park. This project was made possible by a grant from Outdoor Nation.
The grant money was enough to take at least 16 families camping and spend over 150 hours outside, but we need YOUR help to continue our adventures!
We are in the process of creating a gear library, complete with camping equipment and gear that families can rent from us for a VERY LOW fee. We will have kits ready-to-go for families so they can enjoy the outdoors without having to initially invest in tons of their own equipment.
YOUR generous gift will help our volunteers provide camping equipment, nutritious meals, and outdoor recreation gear for deserving families in North Texas. If you enjoy the outdoors, please consider helping other families make their connection to the outdoors.
